SINGER MARIAH CAREY NEXT TO ADOPT

Mariah Carey is allegedly planning to adopt a Mexican orphan.The 'Hero' singer reportedly visited Mexico's Frank Gonzalez orphanage with her lawyer recently and rumors are now rife she is considering adopting a child. A representative for Mariah has refused to comment, only saying they would not speak about her personal life. Meanwhile, the glamorous diva recently reduced the crew of her latest film to tears with her moving singing. Mariah, 37, performed 'Right To Dream' for a scene in her new movie 'Tennessee' filmed at music club Second Fiddle and it struck an emotional chord with some on lookers. Director Aaron Woodley told The Tennessean newspaper: "People were weeping when she sang it. It was very moving, especially in the context of the film and her character."

MARIAH CAREY STUFFS HER CLOSETS

Mariah Carey would only sell her lavish apartment to another diva.The singer, who lives in a 12,000 sq ft three-floor New York apartment, says only a true star could live in such plush surroundings. Mariah insisted to Britain's Hello magazine : "If anyone ever buys this place, they had better be a diva or they can't live here."The 'Glitter' star recently confessed she has four clothes closets in the apartment. Mariah, who showed off her property on popular MTV show 'Cribs', revealed there was more storage space that the viewers didn't see. She said: "I have four closets if you count storage. I live on three floors of a block in Tribeca, so I have space."There's one for lingerie, a shoe closet I designed with the architect Mario Buatta, and a pretty area for clothes with moving wardrobes and a bunch of shelves where I do fittings with stylists."The closets are a big part of my life, it sounds obsessive - but they are pretty fabulous."

She said: "I'm not sure I have best features. I had things I hated about myself. At the age of 12 I dyed my hair orange by mistake, and I shaved my eyebrows. You get a complex from that. Normally my cheeks look fat when I smile."The 'Glitter' star also admits she regrets many of her fashion disasters, but has dismissed claims she deliberately dresses provocatively for attention. She said: "I regret many outfits, so many. People always say that I'm raunchy, but how can I be raunchy? I'm eternally 12."

Mariah Carey sleeps in a steam room to protect hervoice.The 'Hero' singer has revealed her bedroom is a humidified chamber which keeps her vocal chords in the best possible condition.Mariah told V magazine: "Literally, I'll have twenty humidifiers around the bed. Basically, it's like sleeping in a steam room. The bed is all terry-cloth, the ceiling is pitched so the water can't fall on my head, and it drips down to my side, and the TV is behind glass."The singer also confessed she feels under pressure to look sexy, and that she can't help it when her image appears over the top. She said: "I think that a lot of women are just trying to live up to the stereotypes and to the standard that's set on TV and in magazines, which is air brushed women who weigh 3 pounds."And it's not fair. It's not easy. But everybody gets really protective of me. They're, like, 'Be less sexy.'""If I look too sexy it's not intentional - if you film my body a certain way, it's gonna look like a certain way. But honestly, I've been the same way since I was a little kid. Like, I'm just emulating whatever's on a magazine."
